A male colleague has been arrested for allegedly harassing a female employee at an IT hub in Salt Lake Sector-5. John Anthony Phillips reportedly made obscene comments and threatened to terminate her employment. He is scheduled to be produced in the Bidhannagar court today.
The victim, a resident of Behala working at Sun Knowledge in Sector-5, filed a written complaint at the Electronic Complex police station on 21 July 2025. In her complaint, she stated that John Anthony Phillips, who works in the same company, repeatedly made objectionable remarks and threatened her with job termination.
Following the complaint, police investigated the matter and arrested Phillips. Authorities have registered a case against him under Section 299 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The investigation is ongoing, and officials have confirmed that further details are being gathered regarding the harassment allegations.
